COURSE DESCRIPTION
In a netcentric world, information technology (IT) and corporate strategy are intertwined; IT
makes possible new strategies, and the execution of the firm’s strategy often depends on its
ability to implement and manage IT. While IT is a ubiquitous part of the most organizational
processes, management of the IT function is typically departmentalized and requires specialized
technical knowledge. This course will examine these and other challenges to the strategic
management of IT.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The objective of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the key strategic
issues faced by managers. This includes four fundamental concepts:
- Strategy and Transformation
- Governance and Risk
- Implementation and Process Change
- Enterprise Infrastructure and Electronic Commerce
